Theatre in Education
In-School Residencies
The Artist-In-Residency program represents an educational partnership with a local school district(s). Depending on the needs of the educational partner(s), the residency duration can be from 4 weeks up to a full academic school year. Regardless of the duration, all partnerships consist of a five- tier structure:
Planning/Training
Design
Implementation
Evaluation/Assessment
Documentation
All ATWAS theatre integration lesson plans are aligned with the Michigan Curriculum Framework (MCF) educational objectives for Fine Arts, Strand III – Theatre and MCF core curricular areas of study to include language arts, social studies, science, and social skills development.
Professional Development
All The World’s A Stage offers two professional development programs:
Partnership Development: An overview of arts education partnership development for schools considering partnering with an outside arts organization. Examine the educational benefits of an arts education partnership, and the process for successful development.
Classroom Teacher Training: A drama education program for teachers with little or no drama background. Explore activities and management strategies that can be integrated into your classroom immediately.
Our professional development programs have been designed based on our work and training with arts education consultant, Karen L. Erickson, (Creative Directions and the Kennedy Center’s Arts Education Alliance).
