College Audition Prep (including Private Lessons)

5 months (July-December)

About the Course

FOR 2025 SENIORS or recent high school graduates auditioning for college musical theatre/theatre acting programs for the 2024-2025 audition cycle.

This class aims to prepare seniors In high school for the rigorous and highly competitive college audition process, which in recent years, goes far beyond learning the words and melody of their audition pieces. Students will gain insight into material selection and build their repertoire of monologues/songs, as well as work on dynamics and script analysis of their choices. This class provides the opportunity to prepare and practice material to ensure actors are ready for the challenges of auditions, as well as gives each student personal mentoring and coaching to guide them throughout the process.

Session dates: This class will begin with two group informational meetings over Zoom to inform students and parents about the college audition process and how to prepare (parents may join us for these virtual sessions). After those sessions, each student will receive one on one private lessons. Once you are registered, we will work out a schedule for your 12 private lessons.

Mon. July 22, 2024 from 6:00-9:00pm

Tues. July 23, 2024 from 6:00-9:00pm

(if you cannot make these two dates, the sessions will be recorded and sent to you)

In addition to the dates listed, we plan to schedule college theatre department tours and have our students work on their pieces with professional actors. We may offer additional virtual group sessions (as needed).
