Our ATWAS classes focus on the process rather than the product of theatre. Placing emphasis on the creative expression of ideas and personal development of artistic skills, students create theatre through collaboration, developing life skills specific to theatre as an art discipline.

IMPROVISATION CAMP
GRADES 7-12

Session dates:  

4 (2 hour) Sessions

Monday, June 28 - Thursday, July 1, 2021

Times: 10:00am-12:00pm

Students explore the concepts and skills of improv through games and exercises learning skills needed to create strong improvised scenes. Skills include building ensemble, giving and taking focus, object work, and, the most crucial of fundamentals, the rules and structure of improv. The games and exercises not only teach improvisation, but develop social skills and confidence. Our focus is put on physical expression as well as verbal communication. The class culminates in an observation presentation for family.

ACTING:

GRADES 7-9

This class meets once a week in our studio in Washington Township.

This acting class will expose students to the world of live theatre. Utilizing theatre games, students develop drama skills and fundamental acting concepts that impact self-confidence, creativity and imagination. This class gives our students the opportunity to explore theatre in a small classroom setting. For the summer session, we will be working from the script of Disney's The Lion King.

VOCAL MUSIC

GRADES 6-8

This class meets once a week in our studio in Washington Township.

Placing an emphasis on contemporary vocal music styles, including rock, jazz, R&B and musical theatre, this workshop allows each student to build vocal technique, and exposes students to a wide variety of vocal styles.

Our creative movement & drama workshop is designed to introduce rhythm, music, movement, while exposing our young actors to the world of live theatre. Utilizing dance steps and theatre games, students develop skills and fundamental acting concepts that impact dance, movement, self-confidence, creativity and imagination.

This class meets once a week in our studio in Washington Township.

Our classical theatre and acting technique class exposes students to the world of theatre classics including Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, Tennessee Williams, Anton Chekhov, August Wilson, Arthur Miller and more. This class introduces the serious theatre student to plays, monologues and scenes that are relevant for every actor to know.

Policies and Registration Information

1. Registration and payment for all ATWAS classes can now be done online. If you are not able to register online, please email loufazzini@mac.com.

 

2. All ATWAS Classes have a minimum and maximum class number and registrations are taken on a first come first serve basis. 

3. Payment must be included with a registration form to register for a class. 

 

4. ATWAS reserves the right to cancel or rearrange any class in accordance with enrollment. In the event of a course cancellation, you will be notified before the first class and any tuition paid will be refunded in full.

 

5. NEW POLICY: There is a cancellation fee of $20.00. Refunds will be given (minus the cancellation fee of $20.00) up to ONE WEEK before the first day of class. After that date, no refunds will be issued.

 

6. In the event of inclement weather, please check your email to find out if class has been cancelled. In the event classes are cancelled we cannot guarantee a make-up session.

7. There is a Non Sufficient Funds Check Fee of $30.00
