Our ATWAS classes focus on the process rather than the product of theatre. Placing emphasis on the creative expression of ideas and personal development of artistic skills, students create theatre through collaboration, developing life skills specific to theatre as an art discipline.

This class meets once a week in our studio in Washington Township.

Our Musical Theatre class exposes students to the world of live theatre. Placing focus on a specific script and utilizing theatre games, students develop fundamental acting, vocal and dance skills that not only teach the art form, but impact self-confidence, creativity and imagination. This class gives our students the opportunity to explore theatre in a small classroom setting. For the spring session, we will be working from the script of Disney's Descendants.

CREATIVE DRAMA AND IMPROVISATION
GRADES 3-5

This class meets once a week in our studio in Washington Township.

Our creative drama class exposes students to the building blocks of theatre. Skills include building ensemble, communication, listening, giving and taking, and learning about staging, blocking and stage directions. The activities not only teach and build acting skills, but also develop social skills and confidence. Our focus is placed on physical expression and verbal communication. Utilizing theatre games and improvisation, students develop drama skills and fundamental acting concepts that impact self-confidence, creativity and imagination.

This class meets once a week in our studio in Washington Township.

As an introduction to theatrical makeup design principles and application techniques, this  course introduces the students to aging makeup, cuts, scars and bruises; as well as delving into fantasy make-up. Students will learn how to use various theatrical products and techniques to create illusions and characters for the theater.

 

*** Additional Make-up kit and mirror purchase is required for this class. Detailed information is sent in registration email.

ACTING SHAKESPEARE
GRADES 6-12

NO CLASS 4/6/22

This class meets once a week in our studio in Washington Township.

This class introduces the young actor to the world of Shakespeare. Using script analysis, imagination, and creativity, every student will gain an understanding of the text and use scene study, vocal work, and acting exercises to not only understand the meaning, but the power of Shakespeare's words. Through extensive scene work, students will begin to dig beneath the surface of the text allowing them to approach, connect, and perform Shakespeare’s works with confidence.

Policies and Registration Information

1. Registration and payment for all ATWAS classes can now be done online. If you are not able to register online, please email loufazzini@mac.com.

 

2. All ATWAS Classes have a minimum and maximum class number and registrations are taken on a first come first serve basis. 

3. Payment must be included with a registration form to register for a class. 

 

4. ATWAS reserves the right to cancel or rearrange any class in accordance with enrollment. In the event of a course cancellation, you will be notified before the first class and any tuition paid will be refunded in full.

 

5. There is a cancellation fee of $20.00. Refunds will be given (minus the cancellation fee of $20.00) up to ONE WEEK before the first day of class. After that date, no refunds will be issued.

 

6. In the event of inclement weather, please check your email to find out if class has been cancelled. In the event classes are cancelled we cannot guarantee a make-up session.

7. There is a Non Sufficient Funds Check Fee of $30.00
