The Artist-in-residency programs represent an educational partnership with a local school district(s). Listed below are the two available residency programs. Depending on the needs of the educational partner(s), the residency duration can be from 4 weeks up to a full academic school year. Regardless of the duration, all partnerships consist of a five- tier structure:

Teaching artists working in the classroom during the school day deliver theatre discipline lesson plans aligned with Michigan Curriculum Framework (MCF) educational objectives for Fine Arts, Strand III – Theatre.

 


Teaching artists, working with the classroom teacher during the school day deliver lesson plans integrating MCF theatre objectives with MCF core curricular areas of study to include language arts, social studies, science, and social skills development.

Partnership Development: An overview of arts education partnership development for schools considering partnering with an outside arts organization. Examine the educational benefits of an arts education partnership, and the process for successful development.

Classroom Teacher Training:
A drama education program for teachers with little or no drama background. Explore activities and management strategies that can be integrated into your classroom immediately.
