Welcome to All The World's A Stage, an award winning theatre arts education organization. At All The World's A Stage we believe that the arts are central to the educational, social, and aesthetic development of our children. Consequently, our programs are aligned with the educational objectives of the Michigan Curriculum Framework. Designed with an emphasis on process, we integrate the skills intrinsic to theatre that contribute to student growth.

We increase arts accessibility to children and families in Southeastern Michigan through a myriad of educational and performance oriented programs. Our Artist-In-Residency programs place professional theatre artists in the classroom teaching the specific art form and its integration across the curriculum. Our community and after school workshop programs provide our students with knowledge and a solid foundation specific to the art discipline. Our performance programming provides high-quality and affordable theatre opportunities for young audiences, families, educators and community organizations. Lastly, our programming provides theatre artists professional opportunities to hone their craft beyond performance.

In our mission to serve our community as a whole and utilize the educational and experiential backgrounds of our executive and artistic staff, a significant amount of programming has been developed to address the needs of an at-risk and underserved youth population. Our drama therapy and "Acting Out" arts education partnerships have resulted in successful cutting edge theatre arts programming dedicated to serving incarcerated and severely emotionally impaired youth.
Please join us on our incredible and rewarding journey, as we are reminded that indeed, "All The World's A Stage."

History

All The World’s A Stage was established in 1986 as the Macomb Junior Players and Youth Theatre. In 1990 we were incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit theatre arts education organization. In 1997, our name was changed to reflect our comprehensive programming.

The ATWAS philosophy of “life skill connection through the magic of theatre” was developed from the educational and experiential background of founder and artistic/executive director Lou Fazzini. A retired Probation and Parole Officer for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Lou has a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice and his Master of Theatre Arts with a specialization in Drama/Theatre for the Young. It was his vision that resulted in the evolutionary direction ATWAS has taken in becoming an award winning, comprehensive arts education organization.

The addition of Lisa Dobbin (B.A. Theatre, B.S. Psychology, M.A. Organizational / Behavioral Management), and Mary Kay Hake (B.A. Theatre, B.F.A. Theatre) to our staff, has contributed significantly to the programming success and recognition of All The World’s A Stage as an arts education leader in Southeastern Michigan.
